Amur Leopard

The Amur Leopard

The Amur Leopard! What a gorgeous animal. They are actually kind of small for a leopard. The average size is only about 3 feet. They are so cute!

Like my other reports we're coming to the population. The Amur Leopard is critically endangered. The population is estimated to be about 60. That’s it, 60. This may seem like a big number, but for a population, it is extremely small.

There’s two reasons the Amur Leopard population is decreasing one. Poaching of their prey. Because their prey is decreasing, they have no food! Second, the leopards themselves are being poached! According to the website “animalplanet.com” their fur then turned into pelts can be sold for $1,000!

If you want to help fix this problem, find an organization to donate to to support wildlife conservation. You can’t donate here, due to me not exactly knowing how to set that up, but there are plenty of other places to donate to.

Per usual, here’s a link to a list of endangered animals. I encourage you to research endangered animals yourself as well. We need wildlife on our planet. Help save it.

I want to say thank you to worldwildlife.org for helping me find out about these endangered animals.
