The Great White Shark

Dun dun. Dun dun. Dun dun. Dun dun. No no just kidding. You would only understand that if you’ve seen the movie Jaws. Anyways, the great white shark. 300 teeth, 20 feet long, 7,000 pounds. The great white shark is a feared predator. Although, innocent. Sharks kill less than 15 people a year, people kill nearly 12,000 sharks an hour. These gorgeous misunderstood animals are being killed for soup. People catch them, cut off their fins, and throw them back into the ocean to die. 

Other reasons are one overfishing, and two nets to keep jellyfish, sharks and other predators out of populated beaches. The sharks get caught in the nets, can’t eat, suffer and die. Although, luckily some beaches have cameras or groups to check the nets to release the sharks. This tragedy also happens to lots of other marine animals. 

Great white sharks are listed as vulnerable. Right now that may not seem like a big deal, but by the number of sharks that are being killed per hour, great white sharks are headed to be endangered, and then critically endangered. We need all breeds of sharks in our world! If we don’t have sharks in the ocean, other species will start to over-populate. This will throw the food chain completely off. 

Help save these gorgeous creatures. The website that I’ve been gathering a lot of information from is World Wildlife. They are helping a lot with wildlife conservation. If you want you can actually make a symbolic adoption on their website. I’m about to leave for Hawaii, but when I get back I would love to adopt a great white shark. Red Panda

The Red Panda

The red panda is absolutely adorable. In my opinion, they look like a fox, racoon, and cat mixed. They’re so cute! These animals tend to spend most of their time in trees. Their long tail helps them with balance in tree limbs and they’re tail is very thick with fur and full which helps keep them warm in the winter. 

Red pandas mostly live in the Eastern Himalayas in forests. They grow 2 feet at the max and are herbivores. And sadly, these adorable little animals are endangered. There’s less than 10,000! Which in reality is a big number, however, for a living species that is so small! Red pandas are so cute! Do you really want them to disappear? 

The reason these adorable fuzzy little animals are losing population so fastly because they one, are accidentally caught in deer and pig traps. The other reason is they are being poached for their fur. Both of these problems are absolutely devastating. 

I encourage everyone to research more on endangered species themselves as well! Wildlife is so important in our world. Do you enjoy seeing animals on your road trips? Hector's Dolphin

 The Hector's Dolphin

The Hector's dolphin is an endangered species. I know that all of my other essays have been critically endangered animals. And that is definitely absolutely not all of the critically endangered animals. Back to the point, just because the Hector's dolphin isn’t critically endangered, doesn’t mean that it’s not important. The animals who aren't endangered still matter. All animals matter. Wildlife is what makes our world gorgeous. 

Currently the Hector’s dolphin only has a population of 7,000. Like I’ve said before, even though 7,000 is a big number, for a species, that is not a lot. Now the Hector’s dolphin actually has a sub-species called the Maui dolphin. And sadly, they are critically endangered. They only have a population of 55. These species are only found in the west of New Zealand’s North Island. 

I really recommend you guys searching the Hector’s dolphin! They are absolutely adorable! They’re like a mix of an orca and a dolphin. But really small. I hope that you guys enjoy my blog and are starting to see the importance of wildlife conservation.
